Integration of DIPPR

DIPPR is now integrated into VLXE in 2 ways.
#1 The user can calculate and plot temperature dependent properties with a few clicks inside Excel
#2 DIPPR is used as source for standard properties when creating a new project.
Properties like critical temperature and ideal heat capacity are taken from the DIPPR database
while specialized parameters like PC-SAFT parameters are taken from the new VLXE database.
This means that in order for the user to get full benefit of VLXE for Excel they must have a license to DIPPR.
Customers that already have a license can just use what they have.
A customer who does not have a license needs to buy one. It can be bought directly from VLXE.
In the future new licenses will include a DIPPR license

VLXE - Oil and Gas module

A new module in VLXE is under development called Oil and Gas.
The module focuses on the characterization and calculation of viscosity of heavy oils.
The method used is the f-theory and the module is being developed in close corporation with the creator of the f-theory Dr. S. E. Quiñones Cisneros.
The first commercial version is planned for release in November 2007.

Viscosity calculations coming in VLXE

Work has begun to include the f-theory in VLXE. When done this will let the user calculate viscosity for simple mixtures.
Currently no model can handle viscosity for polymer mixtures but a project is under way that will change this.
Please contact VLXE is you have an interest in supporting this project.

Work has started on the new Excel add-in.

I have decided to move my interface to Excel. The reason is that all my users are already using Excel on a daily basis and having the calculations directly inside Excel is more convenient.
The add-in is written as a COM server using VSTO and Visual Studio 2005
